How County Tax Retriever Works

LOCAL COUNTY OFFICE

The process starts at the county office where they keep track of the different parcels of land.

PROPERTY TAX COLLECTION SYSTEM

Each county office uses their own Tax Software Provider to work with and keep track of the different parcels.

SCHEDULED JOB SENDS FILES
AT 12-3AM EVERY DAY

Between 12 and 3AM an automated job sends County Tax Retriever the tax files from your servers to ours via FTP. The files are normally generated the night prior.

DOCUMENTS PROCESSED AT 4AM
ON OUR SECURE SERVERS

At 4AM County Tax Retriever will process the files sent to it. It does this by removing all records from the previous day and adds all current records. This takes around 3 min to process (normally done before 4:05AM).

USER SEARCHES FOR PARCEL ON CTR

After that, taxpayers are able to locate their parcels and take action on them.

MAKE PAYMENTS

Once the taxpayer locates their parcel, they can then start the process of submitting a payment for it.

SECURE PAYMENT PORTAL

If a taxpayer decides to pay with County Tax Retriever, the County Tax Retriever site will connect to the county’s payment gateway to handle the payment process. Although the taxpayer will never leave the County Tax Retriever site, none of the PCI (Payment Card Industry) information will be processed or saved on the County Tax Retriever’s servers. The only data that is saved from payments is directly related to assisting in tracking which payments are made via the County Tax Retriever site.

3RD-PARTY PAYMENT GATEWAY

The payment gateway that the counties have chosen will be used to process the taxpayers’ information. Once the process is complete, the gateway sends a message back to the portal that is seen from the CTR website. The county office also gets their reports directly from the payment gateway.
